KATHOPANISAD Chapter 1 Section 2 Mantra 12
taṃ durdarśaṃgūḍham anupraviṣṭaṃ guhāhitaṃ gahvareṣṭhaṃ purāṇam |
adhyātma yogādhi gamena devaṃ matvā dhīro harṣa śokau jahāti || 12 ||
He (God) cannot be seen easily. He abides very deep in every being; very deep in the cave of the intellect, of the body which is the abode of the duality of the mind, like attachment, hatred, and other sufferings. The calm, un-agitated spiritual seeker, meditating deeply, perceives That Eternal Supreme Soul and goes beyond the dualities of nature like excitements of Joy and sufferings of Sorrows.
Ishavasya Upanishad Verse 1
Om īśāvāsyamidaṃ sarvaṃ yatkiñ ch jagatyāṃ jagat |
tena tyaktena bhuñjīthā mā gṛidhaḥ kasya sviddhanam ||
Om God and Om, whatever, that exists in this creation, insignificant it might be, is pervaded by God’s energy. Hence, maintain yourself with inner detachment. Never consider others’ property with temptation or Greed. Everything belongs to God. God has claimed and occupied everything in the creation. However great, greater than the great and, however small, smaller than the smallest, and, however insignificant it might be, God has already occupied it. It does not belong to you or anybody else. The word, IDAM SARVAM means – all and everything belongs to God, on the earth, in the heavens, space, hyperspace, an infinite number of galaxies, nebulae, milky-ways, black holes, dark matters, and much more. Also everything inside the interior of the planet earth. Remembering this, we should daily remind ourselves, that we are like babysitters or tenants or customers of God and his creations, serving Him. He also owns us. Nothing really belongs to us. Thus, we should live life and all experiences without egoistic inner emotional attachments. We should not be attracted or tempted by properties belonging to others. We should not have any desire for things that belong to others.
Ishavasya Upanishad Verse 1
kurvanneveha karmāṇi jijīviṣetsataṃ samāḥ
evaṃ tvayi nānyathe to’sti na karma lipyate narey
In this world, human beings wish to live 100 years while performing legitimate and authorized duties. For people with this wish, there are no other ways by which he will not be bound by his actions. As per the Cosmic Law of Karma, any thought, speech or action, once done, is never destroyed. It gets deposited in the Antahkarana (inner consciousness) and attracts results or fruits; positive for positive and negative for negative. This is based on the biological Ego. As long as one is not free from Ego, one is subjected to this cosmic law of Karma. Once a person has overcome his ego, he is said to be free or liberated. This is also known as Self Realization. Once a person thinks that nothing belongs to him, everything is owned by God. Through repeated thoughts, one is convinced by it and is no more influenced by the Law of Karma, even if he is constantly busy, performing actions.
FOR PRACTICAL SPIRITUALITY (TIME PASS):
Every person should expect to live full 100 years of life in this world. Every moment of these one hundred years, he should keep busy, performing the right action, right speech, and right thought. He should perform all these, all the time, remembering that, he is doing all these as service to God. Then, sins, worry, anxiety, tension, stress, will never touch him. Hence, he will be free from all types of suffering. Ultimately, this will lead to liberation (Self Realization).
May God and the Great Masters, Bless, Guide, Protect and Inspire you.
With much love and humbleness,
