Self Enquiry – Atma Sandhan

The very purpose of Self Enquiry is to focus the mind at its source. Every kind of Sadhana except ATMA VICHARA presupposes the retention of the mind.

Self Enquiry is the one infallible means to realize the unconditioned, absolute Being that you really are. The very purpose of Self Enquiry is to focus the mind at its source. Every kind of Sadhanaa except ATMA VICHARA, presupposes the retention of the mind. While the ego may take different forms it is itself never destroyed. The attempt to destroy the ego through Sadhanaa, other than Self Enquiry is like the thief assuming the guise of a policeman to catch the thief, that is himself. The Paravastha of Kriya Yoga is one of the methods of Self Enquiry, Atmaana Sandhaan.

May God and the Great Masters, Bless, Guide, Protect and Inspire you.

Ramana Maharishi

Sri Ramana Maharshi was probably the most famous sage of the twentieth century both in India and the rest of the world. Self-enquiry as taught by Sri Ramana is the effort to keep attention continuously on the source of the I-thought. He called this source the Heart or the Self.
